Hello Second Story!

The framers are making kick-ass progress...

Before the framing even began, we did run into one small setback.  When we poured the foundation, the garage slab was higher than outlined in the renderings, resulting in a steeper driveway. This affects the transition from the driveway to the front porch. We had two options. Option A was to tear out the entire garage.  Option B was to leave as is and find the right landscape architect to redesign the aesthetics of the new transition. We opted for the latter and have found someone we're excited about.  We're figuring out how the additional costs will be split up with the contractor.

Now that framing is past the halfway point, I want to share the interior elevations. Two parts of the drawings worth emphasizing are the vaulted ceilings and focus on natural light with large windows. Not so clearly illustrated are the upstairs guest bath and master bedroom skylights.

The next task is ordering all the exterior doors. We are also anxiously awaiting the delivery of the windows and sliders to be installed next Tuesday, July 5th. Until next time...
