Progress

It's been a few weeks since my last post. Here's what's been happening lately...

This corner is where the screened-in porch will be. Our outdoor deck will run the full length of the house.

Have I mentioned how excited I am to have a garage?!

The framers have been working long hours in this crazy heat to build this beauty, and of course I can't help but "swing by once in awhile" to check in on the progress. Okay, maybe a couple times a day. I can't help it, it's been too fun seeing the floor plan come to life. With that said, I'd like to leave you with a few homes that have really inspired the style of Scyecasa.

This is the home of interior designer Lauren Liess. That stair railing with the exposed edges and custom iron pickets are ahh-mazing. I just might be doing something similar in our house. This house feels like it would be especially cozy.

Next up is the sophisticated home of fashion designer Jenni Kayne found on Architectural Digest.  Oak hewn beams and reclaimed wood ceilings add comfort and warmth to her very modern home. I love how she kept it simple with crisp white walls and incorporated antique light fixtures throughout.

Last but not least, the home of interior designer Vanessa Alexander, courtesy of MyDomaine. It's a stunner. From the gray trimmed windows, to the v-groove kitchen cabinets, to the master vanity mirrors, I can't help but want it all wrapped up in a bow.

That's a wrap! I'm hoping by the end of the next week I'll have photos of a framed two story house to share with you. Have a great weekend!
